Grenache Blanc
The fifth-most widely planted white grape in France, Grenache Blanc is a white wine staple in Paso Robles, rivaling Viognier as the most produced white grape in the region. Originating in the Pyrenees of Spain as a mutation of Grenache Noir, Grenache Blanc traversed into the southern Rhone River Valley and became the primary grape for white Chateauneuf-du-Pape and Cotes-du-Rhone blends. Grenache Blanc is rigorous and characterized by low acidity and high aromatics, making it ideal for a low-alcohol, highly-aromatic Prosecco-style sparkling wine like PasoSecco. After all, the Best Bubbles in Paso deserve the Best Grapes in Paso.
